    About

    Cynthia (Cindy) Schmidt serves as Head of Library Communication & Outreach at Liberty University. Cindy's areas of research interest include marketing, public relations, and communications in libraries; evidence-based practice in libraries; Pre-K through 12 and higher education; customer service; management; and professional advocacy. She holds a PhD in Education with a focus on Organizational Leadership, an MS in Education with a concentration in Library Science, and a BA in History, with a minor in Anthropology. She also holds a postgraduate professional teaching license from the Commonwealth of Virginia in secondary history and school library media, and she was a National Board Certified Teacher in Library Media. She is a Certified Associate in Project Management. Before coming to Liberty, Cindy served as a school librarian and an assistant professor of school librarianship.
