About
Soon after he received assurance of his salvation at the age of 12, the Lord began moving in his heart and in his life, leading him toward a ministry of teaching His Word. He has been committed to the teaching and preaching ministries of the local church. For the first five years after college, he served on the church staff of the Temple Baptist Church of Marshfield, MO. Upon moving to Lynchburg in 1983, he continued to teach God’s word every Sunday either in Sunday School or in a preaching ministry (or both). Dr. Leverett has preached in many local churches, served as interim pastor for two local churches in Virginia, and is currently teaching the Senior Adult Sunday School Class and serving as a lay elder at the Forest Baptist Church of Forest, Va. His teaching at Liberty University is aimed at helping men and women adopt a similar commitment to ministry through local churches.
