Melanie Hicks

Dr. Hicks has extensive experience serving in both public and private accounting, including owning her own successful businesses. She began her career in the private sector and held increasing levels of responsibility. Feeling God was calling her to a change, she later transitioned into public accounting where she specialized in helping individuals and businesses with their taxation and accounting needs. This provided Dr. Hicks with the experience she would need to later provide students with the practical application of the knowledge being taught in the classroom.

God then called Dr. Hicks back to Liberty where she has had the opportunity to serve in a variety of capacities of increasing responsibility. Her experience and commitment to excellence have afforded her the opportunity to lead an amazing department of individuals, oversee accreditation for the School of Business, design, implement, and change curriculum, advise, teach, and mentor students, and most importantly serve God in whatever He has planned for her! Dr. Hicks continues to consult, which allows her to stay up to date on current accounting and business practices – allowing her to continue to bring relevant experiences and practices into the classroom.
