Abstract

Families of today’s youth are often overwhelmed by the complexities of their children’s problems. Given the crucial role that family plays in the academic, behavioral and social/emotional development of children, those providing counseling in school settings are positioned to play a key role in linking with families to improve the school performance and mental health of students. This poster session presents recommendations for practice and implementation when considering family counseling programs within school-community collaborations.
