Abstract

Burnout within pastoral leadership is an increasingly frequent phenomenon, which has led to pastors leaving the ministry or being less effective in their work. A body of research has identified a variety of causes of pastoral burnout. This presentation will address the leading factors associated with pastoral burnout, identify issues related to prevention of pastoral burnout, training suggestions to address the factors of burnout, and treatment options with those who have experienced burnout.
