Abstract

Attrition rates in distance education teacher education programs is a concern for university administrators and educators. Thus, there is a need to identify strategies to increase retention rates. This presentation focuses on practices and the use of open source technologies to increase teacher’s presence and immediacy, thus decreasing attrition rates.
